Vietnam transport

Knowing the best way to reach your destination in Vietnam will take care of a lot of your headache. Vietnam eguide provides you detailed information on each destination, as well as what you should do to get there with ease.

By air – You could take a Vietnam Airlines flight or any other major airline from cities in the world and land at the Noi Bai International Airport . Noi Bai International Airport , Hanoi is well connected to all major cities.

By rail – Come down to Cambodia and hop on to a cross border train that would get you to Vietnam . Please note at times, these trains go crowded, as people prefer this being the cheaper mode to get to Vietnam . Try and avoid trains during monsoon times, as the services often get disrupted due to heavy rains.

As soon as you land in Vietnam , book a private cab for all your detours. Your hotel in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh would be able to arrange one for you. Road transport though is very popular in Vietnam , but only advisable for people who love traveling like sardines packed in a can. Intra-city air travel in Vietnam is virtually non-existent especially connecting cities where national parks and beaches are located.

Traveling by road must be minimized to a great extent during monsoon season. Most of Vietnam is mountainous that witness a lot of landslides during the rainy seasons. You definitely do not wish to get stuck in a landslide, without food! Vietnam roads, unlike highways of other countries do not have any roadside eateries.

Having an International Driving License may tempt you to drive your own vehicle. Resist it and book a driver who could drive your car. Driving on Vietnamese roads may require skills that you may not have. Hiring a driver is a much better proposition rather than getting knocked over on a rocky road.
